Will Coupons Really Save Me Money?
-->
The answer is yes! The biggest misconception about coupons is… 1. I never have coupons for the things I need. 2. If I use coupons I will tend to buy things I don’t need. This is so not true. Do you use shampoo? Do you use laundry detergent? How about toilet paper or hamburger meat and steaks? Imagine you could get them all free or under $1 each. I have found it’s best to cut coupons for everything including restraunts and retail stores. If you can’t use it someone else will, and if you can get it for free why not donate it.
Once you start couponing you will find friends and family members that you never knew you had knocking on your door to come grocery shopping at your house! I take my coupons everywhere and leave them in the car. You never know what sale you will find or get that sudden hunger urge while out shopping. I love being able to go to my coupon binder and pull out discounts for Chick Fila, Mcdonalds, A&W and more. You don’t have to save money just on groceries you know. I once went shopping at my local Albertsons and got $1880.07 in groceries for just $19.24. It’s not hard to do just making sure you cut all your coupons out and keep them with you at all times and watching for sales.
It may sound hard but there are sites like www.ConsumerQueen.com who have forums where other coupon shoppers go and share their helpful hints and tips. This is an easy way to score some free goodies! Not only can you find out about the secrets to couponing but also find out about local clearance sales and product information.
Some people let store employees scare them out of using coupons as well. Just remember they are an employee and they are only human. When in doubt ask for a manager. More times than not you are right and the cashier was just new or didn’t understand. Sometimes you will meet employees who just can’t stand you getting a good deal and they will treat you like a criminal for using coupons. Did you know that manufacturers pay the stores an extra .08 cents for every coupon you use? Many times it just takes standing up for yourself and asking for a manager. The next time you go shopping you may just be surprised that the same cashier will no longer give you problems.
