Choosing and Enjoying a Restaurant on Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and you know what that means. You have choices, which one suits you. Will you visit your family or will your family visit you? If you are like many families, you take turns as to who is in charge of thanksgiving each year. When it is your turn, you really feel the stress starting to build. Soon, you start stew about all of the things you have to do:
• Clean the House
• Decorate for the Holiday (if that is something you do)
• Choose the main course (Turkey, Ham, or other favorites)
• Decide what side dishes to make (Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, etc)
• Make sure you have snacks for the big Thanksgiving Football Game (for the guys)
• Then once everyone leaves, clean again, do dishes, put away leftovers and eventually eat the leftovers.
It can be a real stressful time for anyone. However, why not take a break this thanksgiving and let someone else do the dirty work. Did you know that for the restaurant industry, Thanksgiving Day is the busiest time of the year? It sure is and it makes sense. Think about it, someone else to do the dirty work, someone gets to cook, someone else gets to clean, and what is best, you get to enjoy your family and loved ones without all of the hassles.
If you are like many, this type of Thanksgiving is extremely appealing. If you would like to choose a restaurant, instead of cooking yourself, here are some tips to help you:
• Find The Restaurant: This is probably the easiest as most restaurants are open on Thanksgiving. There are many ways to find a good restaurant such as asking friends or family, looking for advertisements in your newspaper, or doing a search on the internet. Do not forget your favorite restaurant, give them a call and see if they have anything going on, on Thanksgiving Day.
• Make Your Reservations: Because many restaurants are busy during this time of year, it is important to ask if they have any reservation policies. If you need to make a reservation, make sure you do so at least two weeks in advance.
• Find the Right Restaurant: It is important to make sure the restaurant is suitable for everyone who will be attending Thanksgiving dinner. If you do not know what special diets your family members might have, it is a smart move to ask them. Look for a place that meets everyone’s needs, such as kosher foods or vegetarian meals.
• Look for Discounts: A large family is likely to cost you a good deal of money. However, because of the holiday, many restaurants offer special deals and discounts for dining with them on Thanksgiving. A good place to look for advertisements is on television, flyers, or your local newspaper.
• Try Something Different: Since you are really taking initiative this holiday season, why not swerve from the traditional Thanksgiving meals as well. Turkey and all the fixings are great, but perhaps you and your family might want something a little different this year. Why not try Chinese, Japanese, or Thai.
This Thanksgiving Day does not have to be a stressful event for you, there are many options to choose from, and you just need a push in the right direction.
